UPDATE 12/16/2014 4:30am PST
We have pushed some code changes to our production environment that should counter the issues caused by the Microsoft Security Update. Because we needed to modify a great deal of code, there could be some unexpected issues. We are currently aware of two side effects that our outside of our control.
1. There will be a small amount of flickering when some windows are opened.
2. Users will be able to click outside of the dimensions of a pop-up window. This will cause the pop-up window to disappear. To bring it back users will just need to click where the top bar of the pop-up window was, or reopen the pop-up.
Once we have been able to verify there are no major issues we will make the code changes available to our on-premise customers. Instructions for on-premise customers will be added to this news posting when they are available.
Any other issues or nuances should be reported to Support. Thank you for patience and please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
UPDATE 12/11/2014 9:30am PST
The issue in itself is a Microsoft issue, not with the code of MC. We were hoping that Microsoft would have resolved this issue sooner as there has been numerous complaints from the multitude of programs that have been affected. From the latest information we have gathered, Microsoft is going to fix the issue, but the earliest Microsoft can patch a release will be mid-January.
With the being said the development team will change focus from 7.0 to an emergency fix for this issue. However it will still take time, as this bug affects multiple parts of MC with a good majority being core code. The Development Team has begun working on a solution and rewriting the code, but it will most likely take 1-2 weeks for the changes to be created and dispersed. I will continue to post any updates we have here. Thanks for your patience and let us know if there are any additional questions.
Microsoft released a cumulative IE update yesterday (12.9.14) which introduces a bug with the “dialog arguments parameter” (3020809) which is necessary for Maintenance Connection to function properly.
If you have pending Windows Updates, please do NOT install the “Cumulative Security Update” as this may cause your system to become unusable.
Should you have already installed these updates, please remove the most recent update in order for MC to begin working correctly again.
Although we have no control over Microsoft updates, our Support team will do our best to assist you in making sure that IE is configured to work with our product.
We apologize for any frustration this situation may have caused you.
