We've had some excellent feedback at Checkpoint and through the MCUC regarding the availability of additional integration options with Maintenance Connection. We're ready to begin offering some strategic opportunities for you, but we need your help! We have a ton of great options and want to prioritize them based on what will be most helpful for your organizations.
Below are a few of the integration options we're considering. After scanning over the list, please take our 2-3 minute survey to let us know what other technologies you currently use or are considering in the future. Don't see something you're interested in? Feel free to post comments on this article, or on a related Product Suggestion, to keep the discussion going!
CROSS-INDUSTRY Back to Top
- Condition Assessment:
Example: EMG, Evoco, etc.
A comprehensive PM program in Maintenance Connection is a very powerful tool. But that coupled with a specialized condition assessment software could take you to that next level you're looking for.
- Contract Management:
Example: Agiloft, CobbleStone, Onit, etc.
How do you keep track of your contracts? Would it be nice to see those contracts associated with the proper assets in Maintenance Connection? Let us know what software you use and how you'd like to see that data in MC.
- Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP):
Example: Accumatica, JD Edwards, Netsuite, Oracle, etc.
Do you use an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool for procurement and/or inventory management? Would it be helpful to have your part usage, on-hand quantities and Purchase Orders exchanged seamlessly?
- Fleet Management (Fuel/GPS):
Example: Fleet Genius, GasBoy, GPSTrackIt, Network Fleet, Teletrac, etc.
Many organizations use vehicles for their maintenance operation. Or perhaps your maintenance operation is maintaining a fleet. In either case, tracking those important metrics and consumables is sometimes handled best by a system designed for fleet, working in conjunction with MC.
- Lease Management:
Example: Accruent, ProLease, VisualLease, etc.
Maintenance Connection does have a Lease module that tracks some lease data. However, with the new FASB and IASB requirements relating to GAAP accounting for leased buildings and equipment, you may need something a little more substantial in the near-term future.
- Payment Processing:
Example: International Bancard, PayStand, etc.
Do you collect or send payments for you business? Would it be helpful to be able to do that through Maintenance Connection or to sync payments made? If so, we may have a couple of interesting options for you.
FACILITIES Back to Top
- Asset Tagging/Barcoding:
Example: AMS, HID, ST, etc.
Barcoding can be a struggle – printing out the tags, finding a good hand-held barcode reader, etc. What if you could pull up an Asset, Work Order or Part, simply by being within a few feet of the tag and “tapping” on it using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, just like Apple Pay®? The technology is already built into your mobile device – all you need is the NFC tags.
- Building Automation/Controls:
Example: Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, etc.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have data points from your control units or building automation systems collected automatically and fed directly into MC? If you have any Echelon, Tridium, Digi, Schneider Electric, Benjamin Electric or Haystack compatible devices, or any device that operates on a LONworks, BACnet or ModBus protocol, you're all set!
Example: Entropy, Rivo, MetaCompliance, etc.
Managing risk and ensuring that you are in compliance with all the regulatory mandates can be a big task. Do you have a software to keep track of your regulatory items? Would it be helpful to have that tied to your PMs and Assets?
- Inventory/Procurement (OEM Parts):
Example: Grainger, WESCO, GraybaR, etc.
There are a few large suppliers out there where you can get just about anything, like Grainger™, for instance. Would it be useful to access your supplier’s catalogue directly from Maintenance Connection?
- Property/Space Management:
Example: AUTODESK, OfficeSpace, Serraview, HotSOS, Yardi, Appfolio, etc.
There are a number of great property and space management tools on the market. The ability to access an Asset in Maintenance Connection and have that Asset highlighted on a CAD drawing, or browse PMs by floor could be great tool for many of our customers.
INDUSTRIAL Back to Top
Example: Calibr, Cybermetrics, Fluke, etc.
Properly calibrated equipment is paramount to success in certain industries. And being able to automatically have a WO generated based on a failed calibration is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to tying these systems together.
Example: IndustrySafe, Intelex, Medgate, etc.
Safety in the workplace is not only common sense, it's good business. Track your inspections and corrective actions in Maintenance Connection and then send the data over to your safety program for signoff and OSHA compliance.
- SCADA / HMI:
Example: InduSoft, Rockwell Automation, Wonderware, etc.
Human Machine Interfaces are becoming increasingly popular as systems get more sophisticated. Tying in your maintenance system to your SCADA or HMI only increases the value each system brings to your organization.
MUNICIPALITIES Back to Top
- Capital Planning:
Example: Axiom, Ecosys, etc.
Maintenance Connection's Project module can handle just about anything you can throw at it. However, budgetary and long-term capital planning functions are often best accomplished by a software designed for that purpose. Using them in tandem can create the complete picture you need.
- Civic Engagement:
Example: CitySourced, Accela, etc.
That big pothole in the parking lot or that dangerous crack in the sidewalk leading to the office. Chances are, they’ve been there for weeks before a work request is entered for them. What if submitting a request from your mobile device was as easy as snapping a photo?
- Geographic Information System (GIS):
Example: Caliper, Esri, etc.
GIS is typically used for the linear assets you maintain (pipes, values, etc.). Wouldn't it be nice to view those assets along with your work orders, specifications and other key asset data on a map of your district or municipality?
- Mobile GIS:
Example: iWater, ArcGIS, etc.
Do you need to utilize a mobile GIS-type map of your assets while you are in the field? How about update your WOs or asset specs while disconnected from MC, then sync that data with MC with you return from the job and reconnect? If so, this might be just what you're looking for.
SERVICES Back to Top
- Audit (System, Performance, Process, etc):
Is your system performing at optimal efficiency? How about your work-flow?Are your PMs configured to save time and money by decreasing downtime? It may be worth having an industry expert review your systems, processes and procedures to provide you with a list of fine-tuning items for improvement.
- Barcoding (Data Collection, Tag Application, etc.):
Are you thinking about implementing barcoding? The ability to pull up an Asset or Work Order with your mobile device can be a tremendous boost to efficiency. But have you considered the time and staff a program like this will take to effectively roll out?
- Inventory Management (Fixed Asset Counts, Valuations, etc.):
Do you need someone to come and perform a sweep of all of your assets and/or inventory? Perhaps you need an accurate count and reconciliation, or valuation of equipment for a new acquisition. Whatever the situation, our service partners can provide fast, reliable boots on the ground to assist.
