The following information is given to help you fix data issues related to Parts and Purchasing where Google Chrome v70.0.3538.77 was adding a Tab character to the end of some MC data. We have provided a SQL script in this article that On Premise customers using MC v7.0 and above can run against their database to fix any current Part data issues. We have also provided instructions for upgrading to the latest version of Chrome, as this will prevent recurring data issues caused by the previous Chrome version. It is important to upgrade to the newest version of Chrome before running the SQL script.
How to Upgrade to the Newest Version of Chrome
Google Chrome version 70.0.3538.102 (Official Build) fixes the Part data issue. All users of Google Chrome will need to be on this version in order to prevent theses errors from recurring. Google Chrome will update when you view the “About Chrome” information.
There are 2 methods to do this:
- Enter the following address into the Chrome Address Bar: chrome://settings/help
- In your Chrome browser, navigate to Menu>Help>About Google Chrome:
Once the auto-update completes, users will need to re-launch Chrome to complete the upgrade.
Instruction to Download and Install the Part Data Fix SQL Script
This script temporarily disables Parts and Purchasing related to Database Table Triggers so it should be run when users are not making changes to Parts, Purchase Orders or Work Orders containing Parts/Materials. We recommend running this overnight or at a time of low/no usage, or you can schedule downtime with your users. Typical runtime is less than 5 minutes.
- Download the SQL script: Google Chrome Issue - PO and Part Fix Script.sql
- Run the script on the Maintenance Connection Entity database (beginning with “ent”)
